This event is for doctors with an interest in hepatobiliary intervention.

 

It is FREE to attend this symposium, but we do request a deposit of £30 to secure a place for this event that will be refunded upon attendance.  If you decide not to attend after registration, the deposit will be donated to the British Liver Trust.

Simon Travis is a vascular interventional radiologist who trained in Hull and Nottingham. He has been a consultant for 20 years and has a special interest in liver and biliary work. He has previously worked in Cornwall and Canada at the university of Toronto.

Dr Clare Bent has worked as a Consultant Interventional Radiologist and Interventional Endoscopist in Bournemouth since 2009. Prior to this, she completed 2 years of fellowship training in Vascular and Non vascular IR split between Toronto, Canada and the Royal London Hospital, UK. She is a member of the National Advisory Board for renal denervation therapy, and has an active interest in research being PI for 4 international trials. Recently, Clare and her team won the Wessex clinical research prize for 'Best delivery of commercial research 2018'. Her clinical interests focus on interventional oncology, prostate artery embolisation, pelvic congestion syndrome, fEVAR/EVAR and renal denervation. She has two young children and is a keen swimmer and cyclist.

Naomi is a Consultant Radiologist at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, subspecialising in non-vascular intervention. She was part of the first cohort to complete an interventional fellowship on the subspecialty IR curriculum, following which she completed a second IR fellowship in Vancouver, Canada. Naomi is one of two radiologists in Sheffield running a busy biliary practice with a caseload of around 150 PTCs per annum.

Martin James has been a Consultant Hepatologist at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust since 2008. After postgraduate training in South Africa, he completed an MRC Clinical Research Fellowship PhD and undertook sub-specialty training in transplant hepatology & ERCP at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney. He helped develop the Nottingham liver disease risk stratification pathway, the joint Nottingham-Cambridge Transplant Hepatology service and interventional EUS/ERCP biliary endoscopy fellowships in Nottingham. He is co-director of the Nottingham Endoscopy Masterclass and delivers regional & national HPB endosocpy training programmes. After 4 years as clinical lead for Gastroenterology and Hepatology, he is now HPB endoscopy lead in Nottingham and is one of the principal investigators in the National Institute of Health Biomedical Research Centre (NUHR BRC) at Nottingham Digestive Diseases Centre.
